for this week,

we have Harami / Inside Bar on Euro/Yen weekly chart.

Be patient....let the candle show itself,where the traders all around the world want to go. North or south. Then, we follow the majority.

On the other pair - BULLISH momentum from last week is anticipated to continue this week. Hopefully i m true.

Hi all,

for next week, we got 2 clear harami - in Gold and USD/YEN.

take advantage on that signal. Trade on the breakout, SL on the other side. Hit SL, remove your post with double lot. It is very seldom you're going to be hit both side at WEEKLY candle. The only downside is the SL is a little big in pips(or value) hehe....

On the other pair, all weekly candle shows they are in BEARISH mode.

So, be careful when you want to go against current momentum which is more to down side.

Trade on your own risk.

If you ask me....only 3% or less per trade!. I'm more than happy if can double my capital slowly rather than burst it just like a magician....now you see now you don't.....

Please apologize me for not updating this blog, for such a long time since my last post.

Bz with new project (my fulltime work) and concentrate on a few personal work.

Looking into the current fundamental issue (nuclear issue in Japan), I think, the mode is to go LONG (BUY), the Yen base currency - i.e GBP/JPY, EURO/YEN, USD/YEN etc.

on GOLD - we see that the price hit a resistance at border of 1450.xx a few times. Just look for LONG opportunity for gold yah guys....

Why Daily, Weekly chart...not Monthly

Why?

the answer is simple.

1. I don't have much time to get into much lower time frame to trade.

2. I found consistency in doing trade on longer time frame although the stop loss is little bit BIG (i maintained 3-4% risk per trade).

3. I can write something on price prediction much easier using weekly chart - once a week is enough. hehee...

4. I gain money by trading using daily / weekly chart.

5. Monthly chart is considered too long for me to wait.

6. Weekly - 50 trade. Monthly - 12 trade. The number and volume count itself. Out of 50, you might get 30-40 correct trade. The juicy one.

its already a month since i last wrote a note in this blog. A month!.

I didn't take any trade in December.

Ok.... how is your trading performance for year 2010. I hope all of you are making profit ( if not tons of money).

Alhamdulillah,

2010 bring me another successful year as a part time trader. Although the amount of money is not enough to make me as a millionaire yet, at least i know that what i'm doing now is correct and will continue to accumulate it until my ambition - being a millionaire thru trading/investing become true.

I also able to bring some profit to my client. All 6 account that i manage currently showing average 30% increase in capital. Alhamdulillah.

Please don't get me wrong. I m not going to manage any other account. I just trade this 6 account because these account is my best friend account and they didn't even bother on the account. It takes me myself to continuously communicate with them and explain on what happen etc etc when the loss happened / profit achieved.

We'll continue our trading activity in 2011. I'll show you more example later on how to trade in easy n relax way.

today, lets study the weekly chart.

We will focus on the Inside Bar/Harami only - for this study.

For those who use indicator, feel free to adapt this style if it can suit you.

Pair in study - almost all pair. It is hard to find harami/ inside bar in weekly chart. Hardly appear. But once it appeared, thats mean....money come in.

I'll show you some example only. You need to see in the chart yourself to belief. For moderate trader / Swing trader, successful 50 trades per year with sound safe money management will do the job for them. The hard part in this system is to wait. Temptation to trade is just to hard to resist!. ;p

Bank of Japan Intervention

Hi everybody,

Yesterday (Wednesday), BoJ announced it's first intervention to YEN since 2004.

What its mean to us?

as for YEN pair traders, you should now concentrate to BUY signal only.

The intervention may last for several month or several weeks.

You can try to catch the Selling point, but don't put target too big. Scalping with tight stop loss.

As for Trend Traders, you can find BUY signal at fibonacci retracement (61.8 or 50.0) or when you re confident enough to enter the market.

I think, with the intervention, it's time for you to make profit and harvest it at the maximum. But beware, dont get over trade/over volume. Make sure the capital and lots traded is on comfortable level. Get your head level.

7 Rules of Trading

" Before we go into 7 rules of Forex Trading, that have been approved by a number of full time and successful traders, I'd like to narrate this story.

There was a lion, a donkey and a fox all keen to go out rabbit hunting together. After a productive day of hunting, the three of them sit around the pile of rabbits and the lion asks the Donkey, "Mr Donkey, would you please divide the pile into equal shares for the 3 of us?". The Donkey obliges and counts the rabbits into three equal piles for each of them. The Lion immediately roared and pounced him. He then piled all the rabbits on top of the donkey and asked the Fox "Mr Fox, would you please divide the rabbits up evenly between us?". The Fox takes out 1 scrawny rabbit from the pile and puts it in a pile for himself then say "There you go, Mr Lion, that's your pile" pointing to the large pile of rabbits. The lion says "Mr Fox, where did you learn to divide so equally?" and the fox says "The Donkey taught me."

The moral of the story is to learn from others' mistakes. Now we proceed to our 7 rules. These are for you benefit as mentioned earlier, from experienced, successful traders.

Rule #1 Never risk any more than you can afford to lose, you will lose money, all traders do, make sure you're not sacrificing anything else important in the process

Rule #2 Never risk any more than 2% of your margin trading account on a simple trade. For mini account holders, 2% of $300 would be $6 so realistically you would need around $15 so you can make this 5%. As soon as your account size is big enough, make this 2%.

Rule #3 Always use a stop loss order. If you haven't figured out where your stop loss order and limit order should be at the start of your trade then you shouldn't be trading.

Rule #4 Know your exit point before you enter a trade.

Rule #5 Demo Trade First: Become successful with paper trading when there's nothing on the line before you open a real account.

Rule #6 Take a breather when your equity has taken a dive.

Rule #7 Don't let your emotions call the shots: Stay cool, calm and collected. Patience and a clear head will win the game."

Ok, Lets learn the most basic thing about candlestick.

Lesson no.1 -

Candlestick shows us the high, low, open and closing price in graphical mode. It was introduced to the world by the Japanese traders but elaborate deeply by Steve Nison- who also known as a candlestick pioneer. (ye ke??)

Lesson no.2 -

To differentiate it, we put color into candlestick ie - Red for candlestick which have closing price lower than opening price and Blue for candlestick with closing higher than opening price.

However, at this moment....many people around the world (traders precisely) see the market on bearish mode. The bull's fan must take extra precaution.

The best way to gauge the market - use your own brain and take whatever it gives on average. err...you can play with moving average (50 - simple) if you don't know/in doubt where the market will go next.

It's been about several weeks ago since I last post notes here. It's nothing to do with I become lazy to update the blog. It is just because i didn't take any single trade until now.

So what do I do? (Install Offshore Jacket).

OK, back to trading discussion.

As a candlestick traders, I continue my studies by reading in internet- idea and strategies being used by other traders around the world. I have to admit that I do influenced by Niall Fuller style in looking the candlestick pattern. Other's, I do use 4-5 type of candlestick pattern for my trading decision maker. At first, it may be difficult to remember the name and the pattern but trust me, along the way, it will stuck in your mind.

Lately, I'm reading The fibonacci style trading written down in the forum by Bond. His master is Fising (1 of the legend in FF). Although I m not a fibonacci traders, but their thought on fibo sequence and ratio has open up my mind into other level (i thought....ye ke??) You can find the thread here

2 or 3 days ago, Mr Lukpayat (Mizie) granted me his permission for sharing my thought and observation on 3000pips trading style(using his FOC indi/script of course). It is quite easy but little bit hard to explain. Training is mandatory. Success result is about 60-70%. I'll try find suitable/free time to write it down and post it here and in the forum. For time being, personal coach/group discussion is not available (i just dont have time for that lol)

I'll continue giving signal from time to time when I came back to shore yah.

The Habits and Daily Routine of a Successful Price Action Forex Trader

Trading success is a result of discipline, and having a set daily routine is one aspect of being a disciplined forex trader. It is so easy to fall off track and start making emotional mistakes as a trader that you really need to consciously stop this from happening by having a daily routine that you go through every day. A daily routine will add a degree of order and stability to your trading, which is very important to your mindset and thus to your long-term profitability. If you do not currently have a set daily routine for your trading activities than you need to start developing one, trading absolutely cannot be a haphazard endeavor. The more objective you can make every aspect of your interaction with the market, the less likely you will be to commit emotional trading mistakes.

• Limit screen time to a certain period of time and time of day

The first task in the daily routine of a price action trader is to know what times during the day you will be analyzing the market. You will obviously need to work around other responsibilities such as your current job and your family duties. If you find that the only time you have for checking the market is an hour before you go to bed, than you must work with that time period. The most ideal times to analyze the market are around 4-5pm EST, which is the New York closing, and then around 1-2am EST, which is just prior to the European opening. Now if you can’t stay up until 1 or 2am EST, that’s ok, just make sure you analyze the market at the same time each day.

Once you have decided on the time period you have available for market analysis you then will need to decide on how much time you want to devote to scanning for price action trade setups and(or) for monitoring any previous open positions you may have. Limiting your screen time to a specific time allotment is very important to your mindset and hence trading success. Trading off the daily charts is the most stress free and yet profitable time frame to trade off of. Once you become skilled in price action analysis you can scan each currency pair that you trade during your given time period each day. If there is no setup than you move on to the next pair, if you find no setups in any pairs than you are done for the day! Any further analysis beyond this will only hurt your chances at succeeding long term as a forex trader. You will start to over analyze the market and dig up reasons to enter a trade; I promise you this will cause you to lose money over time.

• Follow a Price Action Trading Plan

If you are a price action trader you know what setups you are looking for each day in the market. Since this is the case you should have a written out and clearly defined trading plan of what you are looking for each day during your given time period and allotted time amount. If you do not have a clearly defined and tangible trading plan than you need to get working on this right away. Keeping your trading plan “in your head” doesn’t cut it either, you need to read it, every day. A clearing defined trading plan should include entry parameters, exit parameters, risk management strategy as well as long term goals; these are factors your forex trading plan needs to include at a minimum.

Following an objective trading plan will give you precise setups to look for each day, it will help you focus harder and give you a guide to follow each day while analyzing the market. Market analysis needs to be structured; most traders have no structure to their daily routine which is a result of not having a trading plan. How can you become a structured and thus disciplined trader if you don’t even have a plan for what you are doing? Would a builder build a house without blueprints? No, of course not, it would fall apart, very fast. Yet, almost every person that attempts to become a forex trader approaches the market with no forex trading plan and sense of why one is necessary. Operating in a structured manner in the uncontrollable forex market is simply a necessity to you making money in forex on a regular basis. Luck will only reward you for so long before it punishes you, there is no room for luck in the consistently profitable trader’s vocabulary, simply put; professional traders do not need luck because they have a clearly defined trading plan.

• Keep a trading journal

Keeping a daily trading journal is important for a number of reasons, but not for the reasons you might be expecting. Many trading books and other educational sources will mention trading journals briefly and say that you should write down the parameters of each trade you take so that you can analyze what you did right and what you did wrong. While there is some value in recording this information I feel that it misses the point. Trading success is almost entirely dependent on how well you manage your emotions. The real value that a daily trading journal can provide to you is feedback on how you are feeling each day about your trading activity as well as feedback on your day to day emotional state.

It is very important to right down how you feel before entering a trade and after wards. Write down if you won or lost on the trade and then write down how you are currently feeling. This will do two things; it will give you a task to do right after closing out a trade which will give you time to calm down from a big win or a loss so as to help keep you from jumping back into the market. Also, it will begin to paint a picture of how emotion is tied to trading success. If you are honest in this trading journal about how you are truly feeling before and after a trade you will begin to see solid evidence that the degree to which you are emotional in the market is the degree to which you lose money; there is an inverse relationship between emotion and money in trading forex.

The other helpful feature of keeping a daily trading journal is that you can write down (or type) your daily forex market summary. This will allow you to keep a running tab on market conditions, economic data releases and will generally just make you more aware of what is happening in the market. It is helpful to stay connected to forex price movement each day and to have it take on some context in the broader market picture. If you are going to be away from the market for a few weeks don’t just come back and jump right into a trade. Give yourself a week or so to record daily market summaries so that you can get a feel for the current ebb and flow of price movement, it’s important to stay in tune with the forex market.

• Cleanse your mind and body rather than put extra time into market analysis

As briefly stated earlier, too much time spent analyzing the forex market beyond what you have previously allotted for yourself will usually work against you. A previous article I wrote called “Set and Forget Trading” explains this concept in greater detail. If you find yourself with extra time and you start looking at charts or analyzing economic data outside of your allotted time slot than it’s time for a hobby. Starting working out regularly, any regular exercise will help you focus better on all of your daily life tasks; it will make you feel better both mentally and physically. Time spent exercising is much better than spending extra time analyzing the market; you can control your body and your mind but not the market. If you still have extra time after exercising than read a book that expands your horizons on some topic, it doesn’t have to be trading related, it can be anything, reading exercises your brain and keeps your cognitive wheels greased. Remember that your daily routine is paramount to long term success in the market, don’t underestimate it . Forex Trading is a business and should be treated as such, any successful business operates under strict routine, you should be no different as a forex trader.

I will start trading next week (11th January 2010). I think the market will be quite slow(from previous year experience) for this week since everybody just get back from long holiday & sending their kids to school (in Malaysia)

Ok guys,
as 2009 comes to the end, we already face some up and down in our lives as well as our trading works. Wheter we like it or not, we should take some lesson from what we have gone through and learn from it.

Please apologize me if there are any of my post that harm you or make your heart not feeling well, angry with my post etc. I am human as you. I do make mistake here and there. I am not perfect.

For next year, I have several target to meet :
1. Continue what i have started this year - updating this blog. - giving free signal as well.
2. Start 6 year plan from capital as low as USD100 - with aim of withdrawal at once a year only
3. Start write a book - i hope i can have time to do this & contribute back the profit from the sales to community.
4. Continue staring the chart @ 6-7 am in the morning and take trade if the setup is nice.
5. Be more discipline father to my 2 kids.....
6. Become a better father and husband.
7. Become a more energetic and focus subsea/underwater engineer.
8. Bring my wife & kids to travel abroad (which i plan many time but need to postpone it many times due to other more important commitment)

Good news for all of you.
I'll start write down all my notes relating to Forex & Spot Gold and print it out (hard copy). Hopefully i can finish this work by 1st quarter of 2010.

The aim for this book is for Malaysian Trader and those who interested all over the world. It is solely for long term trader and not for day trader (i will only write down what i do and what i master)

My plan is as below:
1. All the money from the sale of the book(after covering the cost of printing/shipping/other fee) will be re-invested into property/real estate investment where the gain(profit from property investment) shall be distributed back to the buyers.

Good news for martingle system fan:
The martingle system that i developed works very well....even during back test work and forward test. However i'll not reveal it for everybody (i dont want you to easily lose your hard earn money) - Let me try it for longer time.
It makes money week in week out - not too big but enough to get 100% return p.a i guess. Let see what happen to the account by end of next year(2010)

Is it ok to go martingale?

I read in Forum & Public chatting, some peoples like to go for martingale system. As we all know, every system is not perfect. Each of it has their own advantages and disadvantages.

Martingale mean you increase your trading lot every time your stop loss hit. e.g....you choose to use martingale system which add 2x of your initial lot of trading every time it hit Stop Loss to recover back what you had loss before.
i.e - 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8,1.6,3.2.....

You also can use martingale number like this : 0.1,0.2,0.3,0.6,1.2,2.4......the numbers goes up with TP bigger than SL

While the method sounds good (recover back what you'd lost before) it has it's own disadvantages:
1. You need enough capital, and start from small lot until you're comfortable with your account(become bigger)
2. You need a good system that you'd tried and cannot go more than 4x loss in a row.

I got this idea from night sleep! so i think i better write it here for sharing purposes. I think you can work it out even with account of USD100 and start grows it if you know how to play with. I want to give it a back test and try it.... every day trading maybe???

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence is the next trend-following dynamic indicator. It indicates the correlation between two price moving averages.

The Moving Average Convergence/Divergence Technical Indicator is the difference between a 26-period and 12-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA). In order to clearly show buy/sell opportunities, a so-called signal line (9-period indicators` moving average) is plotted on the MACD chart.

The MACD proves most effective in wide-swinging trading markets. There are three popular ways to use the Moving Average Convergence/Divergence: crossovers, overbought/oversold conditions, and divergences.

Crossovers

The basic MACD trading rule is to sell when the MACD falls below its signal line. Similarly, a buy signal occurs when the Moving Average Convergence/Divergence rises above its signal line. It is also popular to buy/sell when the MACD goes above/below zero.

Overbought/oversold conditions

The MACD is also useful as an overbought/oversold indicator. When the shorter moving average pulls away dramatically from the longer moving average (i.e., the MACD rises), it is likely that the security price is overextending and will soon return to more realistic levels.

Divergence

An indication that an end to the current trend may be near occurs when the MACD diverges from the security. A bullish divergence occurs when the Moving Average Convergence/Divergence indicator is making new highs while prices fail to reach new highs. A bearish divergence occurs when the MACD is making new lows while prices fail to reach new lows. Both of these divergences are most significant when they occur at relatively overbought/oversold levels.

Calculation of MACD

The MACD is calculated by subtracting the value of a 26-period exponential moving average from a 12-period exponential moving average. A 9-period dotted simple moving average of the MACD (the signal line) is then plotted on top of the MACD.

MACD = EMA(CLOSE, 12)-EMA(CLOSE, 26)
SIGNAL = SMA(MACD, 9)

Where:
EMA — the Exponential Moving Average;
SMA — the Simple Moving Average;
SIGNAL — the signal line of the indicator.

I didn't trade in July & August 2009 - because i was onboard Normand Cutter during that time fullfill my obligation as underwater engineer a.k.a project engineer onboard.

Looking back at the Forex chart, and i found this for July & August 2009
GBP/USD - 8 trading opportunity - 6win, 2 loss
GBP/JPY - 10 trading opportunity - 7 win, 3 loss
Gold - heirwire...+/- 5 trading opportunity.

It's a good month for those who have guts to make it a call whether it is Buy or Sell

Lonely, internet sooo slow, no MT4, no FB, takes about 3-4 minutes to get log-in into my blog. Urghhh....i'm learning to be patient - the hard way.

My last day in Normand Cutter will be 18th August 2009. Then, going to Alex & Cairo. After that, in the Emirates Airbus to Dubai - KLIA. I'm coming back to Malaysia!

What happen to market now?Where are Euro,GBP,Gold heading? I don't know. I just can enter some e-newspaper in internet - whenever i have time to do so. ohhh...the DJ / Nikkei/DAX/FTSE all went skyrocket isn't it? My bet, GBP & Euro is going up, Yen is weakening together with USD.

We'll be back in action later guys...I want to spent time with my family (Kedah & KKB) after back to Malaysia. Postponed my 'coming back' to market to September maybe!

Ok guys, something for you to think of:
Scenario :
You have about USD1,000 cash to risk of (willing to lose) and want to create a hefty healthy account of USD 100,000 - USD 500,000 by doing simple trading. Your time frame is 7-10 years (growing the account slowly and steadily while doing normal job 8-5 day in day out). How much do you need to earn in term of percentage (%) p.a?

Answer:
@ 50% return p.a - you will achieve USD1M in 18 years
@ 100% p.a - 10 years +/-
@ 200% p.a - 6.5 years +/-
@ 400% p.a - 4.5 years +/-

the realistic target is around 100%-200% per annum. In order to achieve this, how much do you need to earn from your trading?
200% p.a = 200 divide by 12 month = 16.7% per month
100% / 12 = 8.34 % per month.
Believe in yourself... you can do it slow and steady!... step by step.

I decided to stop trading (June) today.
Enough for me. I want to go to Egypt with fresh mind & happy face

I'll start my journey to Alexandria on 27th June and will come back to Malaysia Insya Allah on 5th August 2009. Then, we will resume this blog operation (trading signal as usual)

Total GU = +930 pips -180 + 100 = +850 pips
Total GY = +825 pips + 115 pips = +940 pips
